So Banana Fish was a manga back in the late 80s/90s that has just this year been adapted into an anime and is airing. I haven't yet read the manga, hope to sometime soon, but am enjoying the anime all the same.
They have set it modern times (smart phones! makes it easier for visiting Eiji to get about LA) but also kept a bit of that 80s/90s aesthetic and fashion, changed the war that haunts some of the characters from being Vietnam to Iraq and it's working (says someone who hasn't read it but w/e).
So, things going smoothly, what media piece would you love to see adapted into another form (comic/tv/movie/etc)? and why?

Date: 2018-07-28 08:57 pm (UTC)I've got a bit of a paean to the series here, but in brief:
Fantasy BL where a prince with a cursed sword that turns him into a demon at night enlists the help of an arrogant sorcerer to break the spell. While the sorcerer and the demon hit it off immediately on the carnal plane, the sorcerer and the prince also start to fall in love during the day. Other than some initial dubcon between the demon and Halvir, it avoids most of the common rape tropes (and not a weepy uke in sight.)
