Hey Crankies, who where remembers The Hawkeye Initiative? That thing that went viral about putting men in 'empowering poses' usually reserved for women on comic book covers? That started with some Hawkeye fanart by Gingerhaze?

Anyone seen the fanboy tears today that the new She Ra isn't 'sexy enough'? Guess who the showrunner is? It's Gingerhaze! She also did a lot of Marvel and LOTR fan comics a long time ago, before starting her own original comic Lumberjanes.

Aaaaand all the fans in my MCU fandom spaces are too young to remember her massively popular fanart or the Hawkeye Initiative. This is a big thing, but no one knows what I am talking about. I am so happy for her! But I also feel so old and lame right now

I remember the Hawkeye Initiative! I did not realize that was that long ago. I am glad to learn that the person behind it has this new opportunity.

In my current MCU fannish spaces no one has heard of any of her shenanigans. It's so weird!

Totally weird. I am not even an MCU fan but I heard about her fanart, and loved it! While I was not a big She-Ra fan, I will tune in to see her show. I hope that it gets great ratings, or whatever the Netflix equivalent is.

I actually didn't realize that the Hawkeye Initiative was done by one person. I thought it was a group of artists. I am even more impressed.

The Hawkeye thing started with her, but become a thing other artists contributed to. It sort of took off.

I am definitely going to check it out. I have some of Lumberjanes, her original comic, but never got around to reading it.

that's awesome! And I only heard about the hawkeye initiative a couple of years ago so it's strange to me that anyone would be too young to remember it XD

Her fan art was such a big deal a few years ago, but in my MCU spaces no one has heard of her. I feel like I jumped timestreams.

I loved the Hawkeye Initiative, it was so fun while it lasted. I was already going to check out She Ra, but now I'm even more sold on it. Thanks! :)

I didn't even think of the fact that the HI was such a while ago now but good that she's getting new opportunities.

I had completely forgotten about HI, and that Gingerhaze was behind it! Definitely didn't come to mind when I heard about the new She-Ra (kinda strange how I just forgot H.I,??? Even though that's what led me to Nimona and following Noelle Stevenson on twitter...)
